Safe zone
This RP is first and foremost a safe zone. Admins and mods will not tolerate bullying, persistent and hurtful ignorance and purposefully triggering behaviour. Do not act like a brat when you are called out on it if you do any of this. The mature way to deal with this is to apologize, make sure it doesn't happen again and move on. Throwing a fit, derailing or continuing this unwanted behaviour will result in your removal from this community.
Accounts
You will have one account per character and you will only post from that account. Once you have registered, go to your profile and edit your display name to [first name here] [last name here]. Cool nicknames, words or anything else will not be acceptable.
OOC/IC
We strive to maintain a very clear distinction between Out of Character and In Character. Just because one person's character doesn't like yours doesn't mean that the player dislikes you. Furthermore, information you as a player might have should not be the same information your character has unless they have discovered this ICly. In case of the former, please take those matters to admins and allow them time to deal with it. In case of the latter, ooc/ic information, you might be asked to go back and edit your post.
Post quantity and quality
The general rule for a post is at least 200 words. Posts that are pages and pages in length won't impress anyone if it's 95% internal monologue or otherwise leaves the other player with no way to respond. So, aim for 200 words in a post and make sure to give your fellow players something to respond to. Check your spelling, either with the function Proboards provided, with whatever spell check function your browser might have or even in word/open office. Persistent and serious spelling and/or grammatical errors will earn you a caution by staff.
Further more, simply copying another person's posts or parts of it is not acceptable. You will have to get to 200 words on your own. Copying behaviour will get you a caution.
Finally, if we find that you might be struggling to achieve the standards we're striving for, you will be provided with feedback. This is not an attempt to patronize you, but to help you develop your writing skills further.
Activity check
We require our players to display a certain level of activity and there will be activity checks. Missing an activity check will result in your character being archived. Shifter characters who shift into a critically endangered or extinct in the wild animal will be required to post at least once a week, the same goes for magic users. You do not get to have a rare character and then just sit on it. Other characters should post at least once a month.
Only showing up for the activity check and throwing out a quick post is not acceptable and if this behaviour becomes obvious your character will be archived.
Absence
It is, of course, possible that you might be away for an extended period of time. In this case, we request that you either post an absence notice on the designated forum, have a fellow member whom you are friends with post that notice or contact an admin or mod to pass it on.
Adult content
There will be no explicit adult content on this forum. Sex scenes, graphic violence and the likes should not be posted here. If you absolutely have to play those scenes out, you will have to take it to a messenger service or e-mail. Failure to comply will result in one warning. A repeat and you will be removed from this community.
Drama
There is no place here for OOC drama. Backstabbing, gossiping, bullying or self-entitled behaviour will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with another member either try to talk it our privately and if you absolutely cannot manage to do so, take it to an admin and allow them time to handle the matter. Admins are here to make sure the place runs smoothly but they cannot fix things if they do not know that it is broken. C o d e for cool is agnomen.
Plagiarism
We expect people to come up with their own characters rather than blatantly stealing them from other people. Plagiarism is unacceptable on this board.
Admins and mods
These people are here to keep things running smoothly. If we tell you to do something, you do it and if you don't agree then that is your problem. We're not operating on a sense of democracy. We do our best to keep everyone happy, but that may at times be impossible. Our mods take care of the day to day issues and regular character approval. Admins do the same, while also taking responsibility for rule enforcing and mediating between members. Our team of admins and mods keep in touch with each other and keep each other informed. If one of us knows something, we all do.
Application time
Once you have started an application, you have two weeks to complete it. That should give you more than enough time. If it is uncompleted or you haven't responded to staff in regards to you character, they will be moved to the declined applications board.
Character Age
Owing to the ages of those characters already present, the way the plot is set up and the difficulties in integrating younger members into the existing canon, we ask that you do not app characters under the age of 16.
