If there was at least one fortune in the fact that the tiny bookstore Yume had spent the last year working at would be shutting down, it was the fact that she had at least a year of experience to put on her resume. The fact was, it had been absolutely hellish getting a job WITHOUT experience, so even a little would help in the long run. But that was a small fortune.
The rest, in her opinion, was misfortune, in looking everywhere and handing in resumes and... Well, by the end of it she was cycling to downtown Miami, almost an hour away from the campus to look. As fate would have it however, at least one of the resumes got through-
Which was why she was stepping into Mimir's Haunt, a small folder under her arm after locking up her bike neatly outside. To be honest, it was partially the fact that it was called Mimir's haunt that had caught her attention in the first place. Any store that chose to name itself after a talking prophetic head had to be interesting right?

It wasn't normally all too easy to spot the owner. That was sort of the first challenge of seeking out a job interview at the Haunt. You had to seek the steed that ran the place, since he wasn't the one that took resumes. If one knew their mythology and where to look though... it wasn't actually all too hard. He was the one with the eight-legged horse on his tie-pin. Easy enough once someone spotted him.
At the moment, Baz was glancing at a rather grumpy looking bird of prey, who was seated on a perch fastened to a large oak reading desk. There was an old, weathered hardcover book opened up on said desk under a soft lamp. Odile didn't need the lamp, but Baz sure did most days. It was easier that way. He looked up from the desk and spotted Yume, of course. He was there when she passed in her application, as he usually was.
He spared another glance at the very, very large bird before muttering something to her about practising for the end times again after the interview was over and flipping the page of the large tome. Before looking up again with an honest smile.
"Miss Souryuu, I presume? I'm Mister Marwick. If you'd like to take a seat somewhere, we can begin your interview whenever you feel comfortable."

A polite nod/bow out of habit and courtesy both is given as she comes over, a small smile on her face. "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Marwick," she responded, accent lightly touching her words. She held out a hand after a short moment of thought- shaking hands was customary in most 'western countries'... So it was something to do, after all.
Briefly, her eyes flew not to the large eagle however, but to the pin. Sl-Sleipnir... And then to the tome- though before she could think anything on that she took a seat near Basil and the eagle, folder in hand. It was hard not to let her eyes wander here, actually. There was just... So much catching her eye that she was biting her tongue to blab about because really, he probably knew all about it already right???

"So, first off."
Baz shuffled a few files, searching for the right one. Ah. Souryuu, Yuume. There it was. Looked promising, but the horse was often sceptical of resumes. He often padded his own, when he was still hunting for employment up North. He flipped through, wandering over and dropping down in the seat across from her.
"You wouldn't happen to have any allergies, would you? We try our best to keep the Haunt allergen-free, but with Versi being not too uncommon... You can guess how that goes."
He closed the file and put it on the table, folding his arms over it as well. They were about as successful at that as a small business could be. There hadn't been any serious reactions between the allergic and the sources yet, but a few of his old regulars had stopped showing up due to a cat or a dog allergy. It was becoming more shifter-friendly than human friendly over time, eventually the infected would probably be his only clientèle.
Basil didn't mind that idea, really. He was neutral when it came to those sorts of politics.
"Oh! Second. Are you afraid of any sort of animal? Quite a few of our clients and staff are shapeshifters, and sometimes they can and do shift in the building."

"I have no allergies," she responds rather easily. None that she knows of at least, and certainly not any animal ones.
She did blink- nothing but that- at the comment of shifters however, before calmly nodding. "I would not say 'fear'... ...However, before moving here I had an incident involving foxes..." she continues after a moment, paling somewhat as she says this. She doesn't pull details on the memory- THAT would be ridiculous, quite likely. No one was going to care about that part. But when applying for a job, honesty was golden after all, and she had no right in hiding at least this fact. "Towards shifters, I have no problems; however, I would appreciate knowing if anyone happened to be a fox before hand- it... Brings bad memories. Please forgive me for that," she adds, bowing her head. "Ah..." Another swallow, and she rather uneasily stares downwards. "Crows, as well, I find... ...It, it's rather odd, I know, coming from Japan... With Yatagarasu, but..." Before falling into a ramble she flushes, cutting herself short. No no, that is the last thing this man needs...
...Well this is certainly going off to a 'brilliant' start now isn't it? Only one question in and already, what is she doing here...
