Name: Mona Greer
Nicknames: Moon (only by her parents), Princess (only by her older brother).
Date of birth/age: 28 August, 1992 / 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: pansexual, demiromantic
Job: cashier at a pet store
Degrees/Permits: High school diploma.
Languages Spoken: English and basic French.
Human or shifter: human
Appearance:
(PB: Nataliya Piro)
A careful diet, working out nearly daily and regular appointments with a hairdresser keep Mona in the shape she is in. Good looks don't come naturally and she will be damned before she lets herself slip up. Appearances matter. They get things done. She always makes sure to moisterize and use ample sunblock before heading out, given her complexion. Red hair and pale skin do not a friend of the sun make. Her eyes are big, brown and almost doe-like in quality, making her seem far more innocent than she truly is.
Personality: What Mona wants, Mona makes sure she gets and she wants to get ahead in this world. She will manipulate, lie, steal and cheat to gain another step on the vast social ladder. She promised herself early in life that she would do anything it took to become rich and respected, though she will change respected for feared. As long as people will look at her as something other than 'white trailer trash'.
That's not to say she's all bad. Sure, those sides of her personality are a big part of her and they are less than exemplary, but like any other person there are other facets to her.
She is, for one, fiercely protective. Just because she left her family doesn't mean she will stand around and watch them get hurt or get into trouble. She extends this protectiveness to everyone close to her, but it's difficult to get truly close to her. She anticipates that everyone has an angle and that, sooner or later, she will end up with a (metaphorical or not) knife sticking out of her back if she lets the wrong people too close.
She's cautious around shifters. Mona doesn't feel like branding a stamp on the whole group, but she does believe that people who are suddenly imbued with animal instinct should be treated rather more cautiously. She judges them on an individual basis.
Strengths:
- Manipulative. She is very, very good at twisting words and people until she gets what she wants.
- Determined. There had better no be anything in between Mona's goal and Mona for she will destroy it. Or them.
- Planner. Mona doesn't just spring into action. She makes a plan and, no matter how long it takes, she will try her best to see it through until its completion.
Weaknesses:
- Inexperienced. Though Mona has the promise of one day becoming an influential, powerful woman, she still has too many rough edges that can only be worn off by experience and guidance.
- Distrustful. Her lack of trust keeps her from asking people for help when she needs it and, in general, comes between her and making friends.
- Needs to be in control. She gets very cranky and anxious when she feels her control of a situation slipping.
- Reacts very, very poorly to having her plans tripped up. She's a very sore loser.
History:
Mona grew up in a perfectly pink mobile home, sharing her room with her younger sister and valiantly defending her property from the prying eyes and sticky fingers her brothers came with. She grew up poor, her father constantly in and out of the hospital with vague complaints, but serious enough to deplete their savings each and every time, and a mother working three jobs just to make ends meet.
They argued, as families are wont to do when money is tight, privacy all but impossible and more troubles and cause for tension piling up, but the cared about each other and took care of each other. They also had no concern about showing people just how sorry someone would be when messing with one of the Greers.
She went to school, and as she ventured further into the world, she began to notice things. Things like people looking down on her and her family for being poor. For wearing handed down hand-me-downs. For living where they did.
Mona didn't like it at all. She hated that people were so dismissive of her, not all, but that didn't matter, some were more than she could stand for. So she decided to make herself into something no one could dismiss or look down on. That became her great, giant plan. She threw herself into school to get good grades. She mingled and chatted and acted to slowly gather people around her, to become popular. Hell, she even became a cheerleader.
While the versi infection raged, her family somehow managed to come through unscathed. No one was infected, no one ended up turning into another animal. They just remained human.
But it wasn't enough because, in the end, it was only high school and her family didn't have the money to put her through college and a full scholarship was out of the question. It didn't matter, Mona decided, she could work for a year or so, save up money and then get into college. So that's where she is: working, living with her parents and trying her best to save up enough to afford getting into college and work her way through.
